Home Health Agency Manager (DON) Qualifications – Requirements to apply
- Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Licensure: Current RN license
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in home health care, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (ADON, DON, Agency Manager, Case Manager).
- Knowledge: Strong knowledge of home health regulations, clinical practice standards, and quality improvement methodologies.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Home Health Agency Manager (DON) Responsibilities – What will be asked of you
- Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical oversight and direction to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered home health care.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations governing home health services, including Medicare Conditions of Participation. This role is mostly done by the ADON.
- Quality Improvement: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Staff Management: Recruit, hire, train, and supervise clinical staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and home health aides.
- Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback to clinical staff to support their professional development.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to coordinate patient care.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and clinical outcomes.
- Financial Management: Assist in the development and management of the home health department's budget.
