Home Health Caregiver - Victoria's Home
Loveland, CO
About the Job
Victoria suffers from an autoimmune disorder called myalgic encephalomyelitis or ME. For some, living with ME means constant pain and exhaustion. For some–like Victoria–living with ME is completely debilitating, leaving the person bedridden with a very compromised immune system. The rest of this job posting will make sense if you understand what that means.
Victoria’s prognosis is good. She is steadily making progress, but the level of care she needs to receive is what keeps her alive. If you join our care team, you will play an important role in that. And you’ll have the opportunity to be part of her recovery story.
Because of the need for 24/7 care, we have multiple shifts available, ranging from 20-40 hours per week. Depending on availability of applicants, that could mean full-time or part-time, day shift, evening shift, weekend shift, 10 hour shifts or something similar. There may be additional openings in the future, current available shifts are as follows: Tuesday and Wednesday evenings, Thursday, Friday and Sunday overnights, as well as days on the weekends.

- Provide compassionate and direct patient care, including the administration of medications and IV infusions as directed by healthcare professionals
- Manage healthcare responsibilities such as the recording and monitoring of vital signs, and the maintenance of meticulous medical records and documentation
- Assist Victoria with activities of daily living, patient mobility, transfers, and daily routines
- Meticulously follow protocols with each responsibility completed on time according to Caregiver Checklist

- Offer emotional support and patient education
- Perform household chores such as laundry and daily housekeeping

- Compassionate and caring demeanor
- Strong administrative and organizational capabilities
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Up-to-date on COVID and flu vaccinations.
This Will Not Be the Right Opportunity For Those Who:
- Would get bored with the pace of caregiving for a single patient or frustrated with downtime that wouldn’t exist in a faster-paced multiple patient environment
- Lack patience and a warm bedside manner
- Do not enjoy working independently, proactively managing tasks in the absence of direct supervision
- Cut corners or need follow up to ensure protocols are painstakingly adhered to
- Aren’t effective collaborators and excellent communicators with patients, family, and other caregivers across shifts.
- Want to independently create new ways, new methods, or new technologies that might compromise established protocols.
