ABOUT US
In our 70 years as a non-profit, the Sunshine Terrace Foundation has grown from a small nursing home housing twelve women, to a campus of short-term & long term health services that include rehabilitation, assisted living, senior exercise, health education, and multiple types of therapy.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
- Follows patients' service plan when providing the required care
- Under the direction and ongoing supervision of the registered nurse, provides essential personal care assistance to the patient including:
- Bathing, care of mouth, skin, and hair
- Assisting with bathroom or in using bedpan or commode
- Performs bed transfers and ambulation activities as ordered by plan of care
- Makes daily entries into the patient records
- Assists with eating and preparing meals including specific diet
- Assists patients with preparing for bed; including changing linens
- Takes and records temperatures, blood pressures, pulses and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, if specified by Registered Nurse
- Documents and reports observations of patient behavior, complaints, physical symptoms, or other changes of condition to RN Case Manager and/or Administrator
- Follows procedure to report all incidents to the Administrator and/or RN Case Manager
- Turns in completed visit notes/paperwork in a timely manner, per agency policy
- Attends company and departmental meetings, trainings, etc.
- Follows all safety standards and complies with Infection Control, Universal Precautions, and OSHA standards for healthcare professionals
- Maintains positive professional relationships and rapport with coworkers, patients, family members
- Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with company standards, policies, procedures, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certified Nurses Aide Certificate
- CPR and First Aid Certification (in-house training available)
- Must have current driver license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation
SHIFT AVAILABILITY
We work around school schedules with various part-time evening and day shifts available. Our certified nursing assistants understand that 24/7 care is required and willingly work holidays and weekends on a rotating schedule.

- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to work independently, make accurate, and at times, quick judgments
- Ability to respond appropriately to crisis outside of a hospital setting
- Acceptance of and adaptability to different social, racial, cultural, and religious modes
