About the Job
Indiana Home Care Services is a locally-owned and operated, medical home health care agency providing skilled nursing and therapy services in Central Indiana.
The Home Health Intake Specialist will be responsible for managing all aspects of referral intake, including ongoing communication to the point of admission. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and possess exceptional communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities:
The person in this position must be able to perform the following essential job functions.
-- Efficiently process incoming referrals
-- Understand the regulations and requirements for admission to Skilled Home Health
-- Communicate with physicians, case managers, patient and family members
-- Communicate with staff regarding referral status
-- Promote compliance with incoming documentation
-- Monitor current admission status of referrals
-- Understanding of insurance verification, eligibility and prior authorization process
-- Process and maintain intake reports and tracking reports
-- Demonstrate a desire to set and meet objectives and to find increasingly efficient ways to perform tasks
-- Perform job in compliance with agency policies and procedures as well as community and professional standards
-- Communicate necessary information to supervisor and management team to ensure coordination of services and activities
-- Provide exceptional customer service to all clients and caregivers, demonstrating empathy, compassion, and professionalism in all interactions
-- Other responsibilities as needed
Qualifications:
-- Bachelor’s Degree preferred
-- Business and professional setting experience
-- Health care experience preferred
-- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines
-- Excellent organizational and time management skills, attention to detail and flexibility
-- Self-motivated
