Description
The Home Health Operations Manager plays a crucial administrative role within the Specialty Home Infusion Pharmacy, overseeing the non-clinical aspects of the nursing department. This position requires experience in managing non-clinical staff, ensuring compliance with regulations and accreditations, and optimizing departmental operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Administrator collaborates with the Director of Nursing to execute the vision for the department and deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
1. Staff Management: Manage non-clinical staff within the nursing department, including coaching, mentoring, hiring, reprimanding, promoting, and terminating employees as necessary.
2. Policy and Procedure Facilitation: Facilitate the development and implementation of nursing department policies and procedures in compliance with regulations applicable to home health services and various accreditations.
3. Resource Optimization: Maximize the use of company nurse subcontractors over nursing agencies or outside home health agencies. Collaborate with technical staff to source, develop, and implement more efficient solutions that ensure cost-effective staffing while maintaining the highest quality of care for patients.
4. Forecasting and Demand Management: Anticipate and meet the demands of a rapidly growing department by assessing staffing needs, resource allocation, and forecasting future requirements.
5. Reporting and Analysis: Create and analyze relevant reports that allow the nursing department to operate efficiently and effectively. Use data-driven insights to drive improvements and optimize departmental performance.
6. Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong professional relationships with internal staff and outsourced nursing agencies.
7. Strategic Decision Making: Make data-driven decisions aligned with the executive vision for the nursing department. Carry out the executive's vision and execute strategies to achieve departmental goals.
8. Issue Reporting and Communication: Timely report issues and concerns to the executive team. Maintain effective communication channels and provide updates on the status of departmental operations.
Requirements
- Experience (5 years): Significant experience in managing non-clinical staff, in a Home Care or Home Infusion Pharmacy environment
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage teams, providing coaching, mentoring, and fostering a positive work environment.
- Regulatory Compliance: Familiarity with regulations relevant to home health services and accreditations pertaining to the nursing department.
- Resource Optimization: Experience in maximizing the utilization of company nurse subcontractors and sourcing cost-effective staffing solutions.
- Analytical Skills: Proficiency in creating and analyzing reports to drive operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to establish strong professional relationships with internal staff and external nursing agencies.
- Vision Execution: Ability to align decisions with the executive vision and execute strategies to achieve departmental goals.
