Overview:
The Home Loan Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting the Closing, Funding, and Financial departments. This position involves answering customer phone calls, assisting with their inquiries, and ensuring efficient processes that align with business and customer service goals. Responsibilities may vary within or across different functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answering about 5 calls per day from customers, providing exceptional support and troubleshooting issues related to third-party orders (title, appraisal, hazard, flood cert, credit, etc.).
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure comprehensive customer assistance.
- Handling more complex inquiries via phone, email, or chat, and completing appraisal eligibility tasks.
- Evaluating loan applications for compliance with product guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Interacting with multiple departments to expedite processing and resolve issues.
- Performing other related duties as required and demonstrating alignment with the organization's culture and values.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate loan closings, working closely with brokers and the closing team to inform and prepare all parties.
- Collect, review, and organize all necessary documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies and regulations.
- Serve as the primary contact between brokers and the closing team, facilitating clear communication to resolve issues.
- Handle incoming calls professionally, providing information and assistance.
- Ensure all loan closing activities comply with federal, state, and local regulations, and company policies.
- Identify and address potential issues in the loan closing process, collaborating with brokers and the closing team to find solutions.
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers, clients, and internal teams, maintaining a professional and positive attitude.
- Maintain accurate records of all loan closing activities.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in finance, real estate, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in loan processing, real estate, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Proven track record of delivering timely and accurate information in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, mathematical skills, and sound judgment.
- Effective time management skills to deliver work on time.
- Capable communicator, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated proficiency with computers and mainstream computer applications (Microsoft, Google, etc.).
- Financial Services and, preferably, mortgage industry experience.
- General understanding of applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations.
