Westerville, OH 43082
About the Job
Up to $23/hourly
You believe that hospice care belongs at home.
It takes a special heart to provide compassionate care at the end of life, and you understand the importance of being an empathetic and thoughtful support to both hospice patients and their families. You are a guest with a purpose and come to each visit with an open heart, a listening ear, and the desire to create a comforting atmosphere for all. In collaboration with the hospice team, you make dignity at the end of life a priority and know that you are fulfilling your purpose as a Hospice Aide at Ohio Living.
Why Ohio Living is different
- Build relationships. More than any other area of nursing, hospice care allows you to foster a bond with patients and their families that is unlike any other. You’ll enjoy the appreciation and closeness that make your work more rewarding.
- Be independent. You have some flexibility to see your assigned patients for the shift as you prefer, as long as you are self-motivated and efficient in your time management. These roles offer excellent balance with mainly daytime hours.
- Many ways to care. It takes a special person to provide hospice care with skill and compassion. You will make a lasting impact on the lives of your patients and their families.
- Support and rewards. While you will be working independently, you will be supported by the RN Case Manager and our scheduler. We offer the technology you need for patient records. Rewards include mileage reimbursement.
- Attractive pay and benefits. We offer everything you expect, plus a retirement plan, paid time off, education assistance, pay advances up to $500 and recognition programs.
What you’ll do
As directed by a Case Manager, you will provide end-of-life care and various services for hospice patients throughout several counties, including health care, nutritional services, mobility assistance, bathroom assistance, medications, light housekeeping and running errands. We’ll rely on you to observe, report and document patient status and offer empathetic support to patients and their families.
