Hospice Chaplain - ABL Health Care, LLC

MUST HAVE HOSPICE EXPERIENCE

PER DIEM OPPORTUNITY

The Chaplain delivers immediate pastoral support to Hospice patients and their families, encompassing spiritual evaluation, managing critical situations, offering counseling, and connecting them with spiritual outlets, all in accordance with the mission, goals, and objectives of ABL Hospice, LLC. Additionally, they offer guidance and instruction regarding the spiritual dimensions of care as an integral part of the interdisciplinary hospice group. Furthermore, they act as a bridge to the community.

EDUCATION

• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

• Master's: With a Theological focus from accredited institution

Required Experience:

• Previous involvement in a parish setting or equivalent.
• Minimum of 3 years of Hospice experience.
• Active membership in a professional organization related to pastoral care.

Skills and Knowledge:

• Proficient in functioning both autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team; capable of making independent, well-informed decisions in the planning and provision of patient care.
• Familiarity with state and federal guidelines governing Hospice is a must.
• Understanding of human behavior, communication, and the impact of cultural and spiritual values on delivering spiritual care.
• Proficient in tailoring spiritual care to the age-specific needs of adults, and the elderly.
• Knowledgeable about individual and family development across the lifespan.
• Able to collect and assess data that reflects the patient and family's developmental stage, including end-of-life considerations.
• Self-motivated with a high level of initiative, adaptability, enthusiasm, and innovation.
• Skilled at establishing cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership, negotiation abilities, and resource management skills to provide cost-effective patient care.
• Strong aptitude for collaborative problem-solving with both customers and management.
• Capable of making independent, sound judgments while planning and providing patient care.
• Proficient in physical, psychosocial, and environmental assessment skills, as well as implementing treatment plans.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Access to a dependable motor vehicle for travel to patient locations.
• Ability to handle delicate situations, mediate conflicts, guide and reinforce staff efforts, proficiently organize and prioritize work, and effectively address unique challenges or seek guidance from a supervisor.
• Can manage a demanding work environment with conflicting time constraints and priorities.
• Maintains a positive and professional demeanor, displaying self-directed learning to meet professional development and licensing prerequisites.
