Position Title: Hospital Transporter and Concierge
Position Summary: This position will focus on the transportation of patients to and from appointments. As well as taking care of other patients’ needs related to appointments outside the facility. This position will require someone with a customer service background and a perfect driving record. The Concierge portion of this role is crucial in enhancing the patient experience by providing exceptional admission, customer service, transportation and discharge assistance. This position demands a compassionate individual who can manage various tasks while maintaining a high standard of customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Transport patients in company provided vehicles to and from all appointments
- Management of picking up and dropping off items needing repaired such as eyeglasses, dentures, wheelchairs etc.
- Responsible for all paperwork, monies, and receipts for all appointments to and from
- Admission Assistance by picking up patients and bringing them to our facility, which could include out of state, greeting patients upon arrival and helping patients unpack and settle into their assigned rooms helping orient them to our facility.
- Discharge Assistance by helping patients retrieve luggage, packing and making sure the patient has completed all ADL’s in anticipation of being discharged. As well as transporting them to their new home.
- Help move patients to new rooms at the lead of House Supervisors.
- Train other tech staff as drivers for all vehicles.
- Interact in a positive way with patients and staff enhancing the stay at our facility
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Assist HR team with Orientation week of new hires
- Assist Therapy team on outings outside the hospital as the transporter and tech
- Assist HR team in organizing, planning, and carrying out team building and retention functions
- Assist Facilities team in being a safety captain on floor
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; additional qualification in healthcare administration or hospitality management is a plus
- Proven experience in customer service, preferably in a healthcare setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organization skills
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
- Compassionate and empathetic demeanor with a strong commitment to patient care
- Transport experience preferred but not required
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Direct patient care experience preferred but not required
- Must have an impeccable driving record
Shift: Monday through Friday 8am-5pm with hourly and weekend flexibility based on need
Physical Capability Requirements:
- Requires the ability to read, write, and process information accurately
- Requires the ability to sit or stand for long period of time
- Requires the ability to walk long distances
- May be required to lift, push or pull at least 65 lbs
