The Griff Network located in Fallsington, PA is looking for a full time Hot Melt/Coating Machine Operator.
The Machine Operator is responsible to set-up, operate and maintain specialized resin and adhesive coating machines manufacturing high quality products. Performing work safely, according to quality requirements, as per production schedule following standardized work procedures. Maintaining the work area in accordance with the 5S program and help to continually improve the safety, quality, and productivity of the area. This position will report to the Supervisor.
Primary Responsibilities
- Wear the proper PPE, leather gloves (when working at the extrusion die), safety shoes, safety vest.
- Ensure helper wear the required PPE.
- Exemplify safe work behaviour while working with lifting equipment or machine.
- Follow all SOP, safe work procedures and report safety incident, near misses or hazards to the Supervisor.
- Handle & store material according to SOP to prevent damage to material and equipment.
- Prior to production ensure that the correct process parameter sheet, production order, forms and quality forms are available in accordance with production schedule.
- Prior to production ensure all production materials, rolls, release liner glue and glue tanks are full ready for production. Assist helper as required.
- Coordinate with material handler to keep your machine running with raw material supply.
- Set-up machine & die in accordance with the production order, process parameter and PRF sheet.
- Ensure All melters have the adequate glue to keep the machine running smoothly.
- Follow SOP and do the first off inspection to ensure the product conforms to all quality specifications. Record all results and the material information prior to production run.
- Perform in-process quality inspection and verify the product conforms to quality specifications. Adjust equipment as required and ensure 1 roll / Pallet is inspected as per SOP( TBD) .
- Record each defect on the PSA Line Defect Log sheet. STOP production and Inform Supervisor & quality if defects remain unresolved immediately.
- Flag every individual defect with color label in accordance with SOP
- During production continue to record all material information and quality verification checks on the production record forms.
- If machine goes down , instructing and assisting helping team to organize the area or utilize the time.
- Follow and sign-off the production order to verify that correct material is being used. All material changes must be authorized by the Production Manager.
- Continually monitor, maintain & improve the 5s program in the work area.
Qualifications and Accreditations
- English communication skills – verbal and written
- Team attitude; eager to cooperate with others
- Familiar with safety regulations in industrial manufacturing facilities
- Previous experience working in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Previous experience operating industrial machinery considered an asset
- Previous experience operating plastic injection or coating machines considered an asset
- Previous experience using hand tools
