About the Job
As a Housekeeper at Silverfern North, you play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness, safety, and comfort of our residents. You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and order within our facility, creating a pleasant and welcoming environment for our residents and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and Sanitizing:
- Perform daily cleaning and sanitization of resident apartments, common areas, and other designated spaces.
- Ensure all cleaning tasks meet or exceed industry standards and regulations.
- Use appropriate cleaning agents and follow safety protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collect and dispose of trash and recyclables appropriately
- Room Preparation & Maintenance Support:
- Prepare vacant apartments for new residents, ensuring they are clean and well-maintained.
- Report maintenance issues or needed repairs promptly.
- Assist in light maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, unclogging drains, or minor repairs.
- Assistance with Resident Needs:
- Provide assistance to residents as needed, including changing bed linens, helping with personal items, or any other special requests.
- Foster a supportive and compassionate environment for residents.
- Inventory and Supply Management:
- Maintain an organized inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Report any low stock or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Safety Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and training to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Follow procedures for the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Interpersonal Skills & Teamwork
- Interact with residents and their families in a professional, respectful, and courteous manner.
- Be responsive to resident concerns or feedback and address them promptly.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall well-being and satisfaction of residents.
- Attend team meetings and participate in training sessions as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in housekeeping or a similar role in a hospitality or senior living setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, chemicals, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Physical ability to lift, carry, and push heavy equipment and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, as required.
