Housekeeper - Southland Health Care Center

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Performs general cleaning of Resident Rooms, common areas,and laundry to maintain the cleanliness of facility. Provides assistance to staff, visitors and other employees as necessary.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ability to follow and adhere to standard policies and procedures
• Maintain all assigned areas in a clean and sanitary condition
• Wash, dust, polish, vacuum and sweep all areas of the establishment
• Clean sinks, tubs, showers and toilets according to prescribed sanitary standards
• Polish fittings and fixtures, cabinets, tables and all furniture
• Clean mirrors and windows
• Sort and wash laundering using machines or by hand as required
• Iron, fold and distribute clean laundry
• Empty and clean trash cans
• Listen and respond to resident’s queries and requests
• Ensure adequate stock of cleaning supplies
• Observe and report maintenance issues
• Adaptability
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisor

• Performs work according to standard procedures and by the buildings operating schedule.
• Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and blinds
• Dust furniture and equipment
• Washes walls, windows woodwork, doors, sills, and ceilings
• Trash removal
• Replenishes restroom supplies
• Set up and tear down of functions happening within the facility

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE JOB

• Experience: One year of housekeeping experience

KEY COMPETENCIES PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry a minimum weight of approximately 25lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time
• Ability to kneel, bend and crawl
• Ability to squat and crouch
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals
• Ability to listen and follow instructions
• Effective communication skills
