Full-time or Part-time Housekeeper 7a-3p every other weekend
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services, the Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning resident rooms and other interior and exterior facility areas and assisting in maintaining a clean and attractive environment for the residents.
ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS:
A. Job Knowledge and Role Responsibilities:
1. Reports to work as scheduled. Attends all mandatory inservices by employee’s anniversary date.
2. Complies with all facility policies and procedures.
3. Acts appropriately under the direction of the Director of Environmental Services and acts as a part of the interdisciplinary team.
4. Daily cleaning and straightening (including vacuuming, wiping, moping, polishing, etc.) rooms, offices, and common areas; polish and remove items; ensure resident’s rooms are safe, comfortable and maintained in an attractive manner.
5.. Demonstrates ability to adjust to changes in shift assignments to meet facility needs.
6. Cleans and sanitizes areas of responsibility according to facility policy and procedure.
7. Moves and arranges resident’s furniture and equipment as directed by the supervisor.
8. Daily cleans residents dining areas at the completion of meal service and adheres to weekly cleaning schedule of the dining area.
9. Daily cleans and sanitizes resident bathrooms and common bath areas.
10. Daily cleans and maintains windows and walls in resident rooms and common areas. Complies with weekly departmental cleaning schedule.
12. Adheres to all cleaning chemical hazards as indicated on supplies.
13. Observes rules of sanitation at all times. Completes any other Housekeeping job duties as given by the Director of Environmental Services.
14. Demonstrates knowledge of and complies with the Code of Conduct and Corporate Compliance Program when performing work functions.
B. Role Responsibilities - Interpersonal Skills:
1. Is aware of, and adheres to, Resident’s Bill of Rights and Confidentiality of Resident Information.
2. Interacts with residents and family members, co-workers, clinical and ancillary staff in a non-judgmental, supportive and calm manner.
3. Addresses family satisfaction issues immediately by reporting them to the supervisor in a professional manner.
4. Is aware of Resident Abuse Reporting Law.
5. Participates as assigned in the orientation of new staff and demonstrates a positive, helpful and enthusiastic attitude.
C. Role Responsibilities - Safety:
1. Demonstrates ability to locate emergency equipment (i.e. fire extinguisher).
2. Demonstrates ability to identify and respond appropriately to potential behavioral outbursts.
3. Uses facility equipment safely.
4. Recognizes, removes, and/or reports potential hazards.
5. Follows established safety rules/accident prevention.
6. Observes rules of safety at all times including complying with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) guidelines for chemical use.
D. Infection Control:
1. Demonstrates proper handwashing techniques.
2. Disposes of waste properly.
3. Complies with departmental dress code.
E. Resident Care Responsibilities - Resident Dignity:
1. Addresses residents in a respectful manner.
2. Discusses confidential resident information in appropriate areas only.
F. Other Duties as Assigned by Director of Environmental Services.
G. Physical Requirements:
"Occasionally" equals approximately 1% to 33% of the workday, "Frequently" equals approximately 34% to 66% of the workday, and "Continuously" equals approximately 67% to 100% of the workday (typical full-time workday is 7.5 hours.)

SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Possess a high school diploma or sufficient knowledge and education to perform job functions.
2. Must be at least 18 years of age.
3 Understand and carry out oral and written directions.
4. Dress in appropriate uniform and be at appointed workstation when the shift starts and work consistently until the shift ends.
5. Follow directions of the Housekeeping Supervisor.
6. Clean and care for assigned areas and equipment; set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision.
7. Must meet health assessment requirements, including two-state Mantoux skin test.
8. Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess sufficient communication skills to perform the tasks required.
9. Must be capable of performing all essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
