Job Overview:Weekly Schedule:
Saturday, Sunday – 8am-4:30pm
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday – 1:00pm-9:30pm
(Monday & Friday off)
Shriners Children's is the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury, cleft lip and palate, and pediatric subspecialties medical center. We have an opportunity for a Full-Time Housekeeper/Enviornmental Services Tech in our Spokane facility, which specializes in Orthopedics.
Responsibilities:Must have basic knowledge of good housekeeping and laundry practices. Must have the interpersonal skills necessary to work well with others and communicate appropriately with other departments. Capable of evaluating the quality of the services that we provide. Necessary to follow Universal Precautions, Infection Control and Safety guidelines.
Implements the Disinfection and Terminal Cleaning of Areas
• Responsible for the disinfection of routine & terminal cleaning in areas assigned.
• Practices universal precautions and dispose of infectious waste according to approved standards.
• Disposes of trash, washes and relines trash container.
• Disinfects and cleans sinks and plumbing fixtures.
• Replaces paper and hand hygiene products.
• Checks supplies daily and replaces as needed.
Laundry
• Removes soiled linens from department to the sorting room.
Utilization of Time
• Does not spend excessive time with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Records and submits daily data logs.
• Records any unusual occurrences in area of responsibility.
Safety
• Immediately reports needed repairs per maintenance work orders.
• Cleaning products are kept secure.
• Follows the proper procedure for handling all chemicals.
• Operates the trash compactor per manufacturers recommendations.
Floor Care
• Sweeps, wet mops, vacuums floors and spot cleans carpet.
• Uses wet floor signs when wet mopping floors.
• Uses buffers, scrubbers and vacuums maintaining routine inspections of equipment.
Staffing Responsibilities
• Available to meet the department staffing requirements due to vacationing personnel and other staffing emergencies.
• On-going awareness of policies, procedures and the requirements of outside agencies.
• Participates in positive and effective communications; demonstrates flexibility to change as required; promotes inter/intra department teamwork; works efficiently and demonstrates integrity.
Continuous Quality Improvement
• Notifies Manager of any conditions that affect the quality of service provided by department.
• Participates in Quality Improvement Projects with the department.
High School Diploma/GED required
One year of Environmental Services or Laundry preferred
Other
COVID-19 Vaccination required.
