Aventura at Assumption Village is looking for a FT Housekeeper to join our team!
Schedule is 5 days per week/ 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM or 9:30 AM to 6:00 PM / every other weekend and holiday
HOUSEKEEPING RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Receive and follow cleaning schedules/instructions from your supervisor.
2. Report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc., to your supervisor immediately.
3. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
4. Assure that the facility is maintained in a clean, safe and orderly manner for resident comfort and convenience.
5. Ensure that resident rights are followed.
6. Make sure that work/assignment areas are clean and free of equipment, and supplies. Assure all chemicals are properly locked in closet or cabinet before leaving such areas on breaks, end of work day, etc. Keep work area/assigned area free of hazardous objects such as protruding mop/broom handles, etc., and assure that all cleaning supplies, equipment, etc. are properly cleaned and stored at the end of your shift/work day.
7. Ensure supplies have been replenished in assigned work areas as necessary.
8. Clean vacant rooms as assigned to assure they are ready for immediate occupancy.
9. Work on weekends and holidays as required.
10. Work days and hours as required.
11. Work shift other than normal shift as required.
12. Work in harmony with fellow staff members
13. Demonstrate outstanding customer service at all times.
HOUSEKEEPING PRIMARY DUTIES
1. Perform general cleaning work throughout the entire facility.
2. Clean, wash, sanitize and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Make sure watermarks are removed from fixtures.
3. Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, bathrooms, or other areas as instructed.
4. Clean floors for entire facility, to include vacuuming, sweeping, and dusting damp/wet mopping, disinfecting, etc. as instructed. Ensure that caution/safety signs are properly set up to include disinfecting, as instructed.
5. Remove dirt, dust, grease, film from furniture, equipment and all surfaces using proper cleaning or disinfecting solutions.
6. Clean windowsills and arrange furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion.
7. Clean hallways as necessary/instructed.
8. Dispose of waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacles with plastic liners.
9. Maintain showers, toilets, and washrooms.
10. Replenish supplies of soap, paper towels and toilet tissue in resident’s bathrooms and public restrooms.
11. Clean and polish glass in all windows and doors in the entire facility.
12. Clean special areas as assigned.
13. Follow procedures for mixing ratios of cleaning solutions.
14. Perform room cleaning procedures, as instructed, when a resident is discharged, and/or transferred to another room/area, to assure that the room is ready for new occupancy.
15. Perform cleaning/sanitizing procedures in ISOLATION ROOMS/AREAS, as instructed in accordance with established infection control policies and procedures.
16. Attend meetings and in-services as required.
17. Other duties as may be assigned or required.
18. The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide will also be cross-trained in Laundry and will be required from time to time to perform the Laundry Aide function.
19. The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide role in Assisted Living will include changing bed linens on cleaning day.
20. Laundering Resident clothing as requested.
21. Collect soiled towels and distribute clean towels to resident rooms on cleaning days (Assisted Living only).
