Housekeeper - Oyster Bay Boutique Hotel

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the facility, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment for all occupants and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage time effectively.

Essential Functions

- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and common areas.

- Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors as needed, ensuring surfaces are sanitized and well-maintained.

- Change bed linens, make beds, and replenish towels and toiletries.

- Conduct deep cleaning tasks on a scheduled basis, such as window washing, carpet cleaning, and upholstery cleaning.

- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and notify management when stock is low.

- Adhere to all safety and sanitation policies to ensure a clean and safe environment.

- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.

- Assist with laundry services, if required, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing.

- Provide excellent customer service to residents and guests, addressing any needs or concerns in a professional manner.

- Work independently and as part of a team to ensure the highest standard of cleanliness.

- Adhere to all internal Standard Operating Procedures.

- Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

- Strong attention to detail and an ability to work efficiently.

- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, bend, stoop, and lift up to 30lbs.

- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.

- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.

Education & Experience

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience is desirable but not mandatory.

- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies is a plus.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The key physical requirements of this position includes the ability to walk and stand for an extended period of time, bending, stooping, and able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Position Type & Expected Hours of Work

This is a regular, part-time, nonexempt position. Days and hours will vary according to business needs.
