Job Summary:
Sequoia Transitional Care, a skilled nursing facility in Porterville, CA, is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to lead and oversee our housekeeping team. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for our residents, staff, and visitors by maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the facility. This position is perfect for a motivated individual who has prior supervisory experience and a strong commitment to excellence in environmental services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Leadership: Manage and direct the daily activities of the housekeeping team, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and providing on-the-job training and guidance to ensure efficient and effective cleaning operations.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct regular inspections of resident rooms, common areas, and other facility spaces to ensure they meet facility standards for cleanliness and safety.
- Staff Training and Development: Train and educate housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, equipment usage, and safety protocols. Monitor performance and provide feedback and coaching as needed.
- Inventory and Supplies Management: Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment. Order and restock supplies as necessary, ensuring cost-effective use of resources.
- Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures, particularly those related to infection control, sanitation, and hazardous materials handling.
- Resident and Staff Relations: Respond promptly to housekeeping-related requests and concerns from residents, families, and staff members, ensuring a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
- Policy and Procedure Development: Assist in developing and updating housekeeping policies and procedures to align with best practices and regulatory standards.
- Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of cleaning equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed to the maintenance department.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience in housekeeping or environmental services, preferably in a healthcare or skilled nursing facility.
- Skills: Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to train, motivate, and manage a diverse team.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with cleaning products, equipment, and techniques used in a healthcare setting. Understanding of infection control and safety procedures.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
