MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant an Associate’s degree or higher and one (1) year of full time paid experience in the oversight of rental property application process, income verification, and/or property management; OR
- Graduation from High School or an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of full time paid experience in the oversight of rental property application process, income verifications, and/or property management.
SPECIAL NOTES:
- One year of full time paid experience working as a Housing Authority Occupancy Specialist or a similar role with a public housing authority in NYS may be counted as one year of experience defined in #1 or #2 above.
DUTIES:
- This position involves responsibility for maintaining effective communication and relations between the Housing Authority and its tenants.
- The work includes coordinating and analyzing occupancies and vacancies, Section 8 vouchers, determining eligibility, interviewing applicants and tenants, etc. An incumbent in this position must apply the basic principles of human relations and techniques of group work to concrete situations.
- The work is performed under the direct supervision of the Tenant Relations Specialist and the general supervision of the Executive Director. Supervision is not a responsibility of this position.
- The incumbent does related work as required.
