Job Title: HP NonstopTandem Architect
Location: Chicago, IL (Candidate has to work in Central Time Zone)
Job Overview: As an HP NonStop Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of HP NonStop servers and related software components. You will work closely with clients to ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of their NonStop systems and provide expert technical assistance as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain HP NonStop servers, including hardware, operating systems, and software components.
- Monitor system performance and resource utilization, identify and resolve issues, and optimize system performance.
- Perform system upgrades, patches, and software installations in accordance with best practices and client requirements.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including user access controls, authentication, and encryption.
- Develop and maintain system documentation, including installation guides, configuration manuals, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Provide technical support and assistance to clients, including troubleshooting system issues, diagnosing problems, and implementing solutions.
- Collaborate with other IT teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues and ensure the smooth operation of NonStop systems.
- Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in HP NonStop systems administration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in HP NonStop systems administration or a similar role.
- Proficiency in HP NonStop Guardian, OSS, and SQL environments.
- Strong knowledge of HP NonStop hardware, including servers, disk storage, and networking components.
- Experience with NonStop utilities and tools, such as SCF, TMF, SQL/MP, and Pathway.
- Familiarity with NonStop application development environments, languages, and tools (e.g., COBOL, TAL, Pathway).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
- HP NonStop certifications (e.g., HPE ATP - NonStop Systems Administrator) are a plus.
