Position Description:
Banner Defense is seeking a talented High-Power Microwave/Radio Frequency (HPM/RF) Engineer. As an HPM/RF Engineer on the U.S. Army Rapid Capabilities Critical Technologies Office (RCCTO) Indirect Fire Protection Capability - High Power Microwave, you will get to analyze technical data provided by the vendor, provide insight into the effects of HPM on other equipment; and make recommendations to Government as the sole HPM subject matter expert on-site.
Responsibilities:
- Perform critical analysis of technical data packages including but not limited to SRR/SFR/PDR/CDR presentations, HPM acceptance test planning/results, HPM lethality analysis, and HPM risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide recommendations on the emplacement of HPM system to maximize lethality while limiting impact to equipment.
- Interface with Naval Surface Warfare Division-Dahlgren HPM SMEs to provide RCCTO leadership with recommendations on a wide range efforts that are conducted.
- Work with all stakeholders to gain approval to operate HPM system, both CONUS and OCONUS.
- Perform all-source analyses to acquire required technical specifications.
- Provide Professional Engineering Advice, guidance, and assistance in various stages of research, development, and deployment.
- Formulate/estimate technical parameters that are not available from all-source analyses.
- Support the preparation of risk assessment reports, safety assessment reports, and technical data packages and presentation materials.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
- Experience evaluating, coordinating, and risk mitigations with HPM/RF systems
- Active Secret clearance
Desired Qualifications/Experience:
- Experience working in a multi-disciplined team, including program management and technical/engineering personnel.
- Experience with Directed Energy Weapon Initial Operational Employment Review and Approval Process (DEWRAP) process.
- Experience with a wide range of sensors (EO/IR, Radar, etc.).
- Experience with non-kinetic effectors (Lasers, EW, etc.).
- Understand system engineering processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
- Demonstrate a professional demeanor when working with senior Army leadership.
