HR Business Partner (On-site) - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, OH

BWX Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a strategic HR Business Partner for its Barberton, OH location!

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

1. Provide day to day Human Resources support to the workforce through employee engagement on the shop floor, responding to questions/inquires in a timely manner and working to resolve concerns as soon as identified.
2. Partner with leadership and Talent Acquisition to provide full cycle support for the site’s hiring needs.
3. Advise employees and managers on interpretation of policies, guidelines, procedures, laws, and other government regulations.
4. Complete employee relations investigations with a focus on the facts of the situation, legal and policy compliance, and prompt resolution.
5. Guide and support employees through FMLA and Short-Term Disability related leaves and coordinates required return to work protocols.  
6. Assists with employee events, including but not limited to, benefits enrollment; policy training; organization-wide meetings; career fairs and employee recognition events.
7. Ensure regulatory compliance through routine checks of required legal and ethics postings.
8. Responsible for the maintenance, integrity and confidentiality of new hire files and records.
9. Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
10. Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings to senior leadership.
11. Consult with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in human resources, business, or a closely related field is required.
2. Must possess a minimum of five (5) years of related experience in human resources including experience in the areas of staffing; benefits; compensation; employee relations and employment law compliance.
3. Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.
4. Must be able to obtain and main a Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.
5. Ability to report to work at an assigned office location. This position does not include a remote work option.

 Job Qualifications/Requirements:

1. Operational Excellence training and certification is highly preferred.
2. Demonstrated ability to provide excellent customer service while ensuring legal and policy compliance.
3. Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and to work collaboratively with cross functional teams. 
5. Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite’s Outlook, PowerPoint and Word. With an advanced proficiency level in Excel to produce required business reporting. 
6. This position supports a safety and quality driven, 24-7 manufacturing operation and requires the ability and availability to work the occasional adjusted schedule. Variations to normal work hours may include but are not limited to, support of early morning meetings, engagement with the shop floor during 2nd shift evening operations, scheduled plant initiatives, unplanned after-hours investigations and pre-planned weekend employee events.
