Position Overview
This position provides advanced HR consultation on a wide variety of complex employee relations matters to multiple business units to define and execute division and department level HR strategies that enable accomplishment of business unit objectives, strategic goals, and align with university culture. This position also manages and administers HR programs, ensures compliance with federal and state laws, Regents Rules, System Regulations, and university policies. Work involves substantial latitude and independent judgment, a high level of self initiative and critical thinking skills, and working under minimal supervision. Serves as a resource and mentor to junior team members.
We are currently hiring for multiple HR Business Partner (HRBP) positions at both senior and mid-levels. Candidates who apply will be considered for the role that best aligns with their qualifications and experience.
The minimum qualifications for a Senior HR Business Partner are:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration or related field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in HR or related field; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Knowledge of the principles and practices of human resource management, including but not limited the following: functional areas of employment, compensation and benefits, classification, employee relations, workers' compensation
* Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations governing personnel activities and transactions
* Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
* Skilled in in conducting interviews
* Skilled in MS Office and HR related software and computer information systems to organize, store, manipulate and retrieve data
* Ability to handle multiple tasks; skilled in time management and prioritizing
* Ability to explain policies and procedures to staff and members of the public
* Ability to maintain confidential and sensitive information
* Ability to develop and analyze human resource processes and procedures
* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with applicants, employees, and the general public
* Ability to plan, assign, and guide the work of others
* Skilled in critical thinking and problem-solving
* Ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage multiple assignments
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities

Preferred Qualifications
PHR/SPHR or SHRMCP/SCP Certification Bilingual in Spanish Experience in higher education

Job Duties:
- % - Partners with university divisions, business units, managers, and employees to provide guidance on a wide variety of routine and complex human resources issues in the areas of employee relations, performance management, workforce planning, employee engagement, training and development, compensation, leave, policies, and institutional effectiveness measures, involving interpretation and application of federal and state laws, Regents Rules, System Regulations, and university policies and procedures. Utilizes advanced knowledge of various HR functions to provide tactical support, professional counsel, advice, and service to university constituents to help facilitate initiatives for the success of the universitys mission. - ()
- % - Assists with planning and execution of various HR initiatives and serves as lead for specific HR programs, projects and initiatives, providing oversight and direction to ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, policies and procedures. - ()
- % - Serves as an internal consultant to provide assessment and analysis of employee relations issues and provides coaching to supervisors and employees on effective resolutions using constructive strategies such as coaching, mediation, progressive discipline, or grievance processes that support effective employment relationships, and evaluates effectiveness - ()
- % - Conducts workplace investigations including consultations, preparing investigative plans, preparing wellwritten investigative reports, and making final determinations in investigations following established best practices. - ()
- % - Identifies and develops resources, in partnership with Organizational Development and Engagement, in coaching supervisors on contemporary employee experience issues including employee engagement, employee growth and talent development to build knowledge, skills, and abilities in support of career pathing and succession planning. - ()
- % - Represents the HR department on universitywide and divisionlevel committees, projects, and initiatives. - ()
- % - Provides strategies for professional development according to the needs of the division, department, and individual employee goals. - ()
- % - Independently researches and analyzes innovative HR practices, current market trends, and emerging topics to stay abreast of developments in the HR field and the higher education industry, utilizing that knowledge to develop and propose recommendations for improvement. Maintains an effective level of business acumen, institutional knowledge, and literacy regarding business units, including core business, culture, and short and longrange plans to effectively align HR support. - ()
