Overview
The HR Business Partner is a critical partner on the Home Office Human Resources team. Responsible for support and maintenance of processes that are designed to make Otterbein SeniorLife THE place to work, the HR Business Partner will directly influence the ministry and support Operational Leaders in supporting and improving key areas such as New Partner (employee) Orientation, onboarding, engagement surveys, round tables, town halls, internal communication, partner relations, company policy, compliance, and more!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Onboarding
- Partner with Home Office and Field HR teams to ensure a consistent, seamless, and compliant onboarding experience that aligns with the company's strategy and values
- Monitor and measure the effectiveness of the company's onboarding programs through regular administration and analysis of partner surveys
- Evaluate, recommend, design, and implement new processes or systems for onboarding new partners with a mindset of continuous improvement for enhancing the experience
- Lead the onboarding and orientation of all Home Office partners, including the support of onboarding new members of the Senior Leadership Team
Talent Management
- Support the AVP of HR with the Talent Management initiatives, including but not limited to coordination or facilitation of New Manager Training, DISC Assessment, Microlearning, succession planning for key roles (below the Senior Leadership level), etc.
- Lead efforts to collect feedback on training or skills gaps across the organization and make recommendations to Senior Leadership Team (SLT) for ways to make improvements
Engagement & Recognition
- Administer and maintain programs that support partner engagement, satisfaction, and retention
- Ensure the HR function is driving results that create an optimal partner experience and make Otterbein THE place to work
- Execute internal communication plans to ensure all partners are informed of relevant information and updates
Partner Relations
- Foster a positive environment that ensures partner concerns and conflicts are addressed immediately
- Collaborate with SLT and on-site HR Representatives to navigate investigations and ensure alignment on appropriate recommendations are escalated to AVPs/VPs as necessary
- Conduct thorough investigations for sensitive or highly confidential employment issues, including investigations
- Support on-site leaders with the facilitation of quarterly partner round tables, town halls, and action plans based on feedback received through applicable surveys or partner meetings
- Provide guidance to members of leadership and local HR on disciplinary action, investigations, and reviews for termination and make appropriate recommendations that are aligned with Otterbein's culture, policies, and compliant with applicable regulation
Talent Acquisition
- Support the maintenance, administration, and training of the company's Applicant Tracking System (currently Greenhouse) in addition to associated communications and interview scheduling tools
- Update and maintain job descriptions
Compliance
- Ensure adherence to applicable labor laws, regulations, and company policies
- Manage HR-related risk and ensure accurate documentation and reporting
- Partner with Benefits and on-site leaders/HR to review partner requests for reasonable accommodations and make sound recommendations
- Monitor and oversee the organization's pre-hire credentialing programs, including the piloting or rollout of any new or modified programs.
- Support on-site HR and local leaders in the review and recommendation of pre-adverse or adverse actions based on results of new hire drug testing, background checks, and other employment contingencies.
Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, OR
- 5+ years of relevant experience, OR
- Combination of relevant education, certification, and experience
- Prior experience desired with;
- UKG or similar HRIS
- Greenhouse or similar ATS
- Workrede or similar internal communications app
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products
- HR certification through SHRM or HRCI is desired
