Under the direction of the HR Business Partner, the HR Coordinator will serve as a liaison between Human Resources and the employees at the YMCA of Greater Seattle (YGS) on the Business Partner team. The HR Coordinator will collaborate with a specific grouping of our Centers of Excellence (departments) to develop and implement strategic HR priorities throughout the association.
This position is temporary and will specifically look to support summer camp hiring with an anticipated start date of December 1, 2024 and end date June 30, 2025.
While working closely with the designated Center of Excellence (COE) and their Human Resources Business Partner and Specialist, the HR Coordinator will be a part of providing HR guidance on talent acquisition, preliminary employee relations issues, Learning & Development assignments, benefits information, onboarding tasks and other basic HRIS and operational functions. The HR Coordinator is accountable to all staff members of their COE's ranging from front-line staff to executive leadership. The HR Coordinator will work in partnership with other key members within their HR team as well as the larger HR team to deliver comprehensive HR support to our organization. This is an essential role for implementing and reinforcing HR initiatives and aims to provide full life cycle and specialized support to all staff within the YMCA of Greater Seattle.

Hiring range: $22.05- $25.00/hour
Responsibilities
RECRUITING AND HIRING:
+ Collaborate with Business Partnership cohort to:
+ Identify, attract, source, and increase the pool of candidates for current hiring needs.
+ Manage full life cycle recruiting, including posting jobs, sourcing candidates, dispositioning candidates in ATS, ensuring reference checks are completed, providing finalists with key organizational information, and communicating through the close of the job.
+ Identifies and implements strategies to support diversity in the recruitment of management team openings and key leadership positions in newly opened wellness centers. Supports the work of the Recruiter.
+ Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic efforts around recruiting and talent management, resulting in a diverse and well-qualified candidate pool that meets our business needs, now and for the future.
ONBOARDING:
+ Works in tandem with the onboarding specialist to implement, assign and improve the employee onboarding process.
+ Support the scheduling and delivery of functional training curriculum to set new hires up for success in their specific role, in coordination and alignment with the onboarding and orientation program.
+ Engages operational stakeholders to provide input and feedback on the onboarding and orientation program.
VOICE OF THE EMPLOYEE FRAMEWORK:
+ Collaborate with Business Partnership cohort to:
+ Ensure employees and supervisors are equipped with the appropriate tools for employee engagement and success by providing HR system and process navigation for all YGS staff within their designated scope of service.
+ Maintain and communicate up-to-date and accurate HR information to all staff; develop and foster a feedback loop with all HR leaders for continuous improvement of HR processes.
+ Plan and implement culture- and function-specific onboarding of all new employees throughout their first year with YGS; coordinate with supervisors and other YGS support staff to ensure all required training is completed.
+ Participates in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success. Follows up to ensure training objectives are met.
+ Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
+ Support implementation of a YGS workforce recognition system.

OVERALL PARTNERING:
+ Collaborate with Business Partnership cohort to:
+ Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
+ Provide preliminary support or intake of employee relations concerns.
+ Advise on performance management and corrective action.
+ Under the employee relations umbrella, execute employment verification and investigate rehire eligibility.
+ Provide support to YGS regarding benefit information.
+ Work in partnership with the Learning & Development team to create, improve and assign digital training in our LMS, Brainier.
+ Work in partnership with the HRIS team to integrate and make changes to employee profiles.
+ Conducts weekly and/or monthly meetings with respective business units.
+ Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
+ Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a professional office environment. We are currently working on a hybrid model working 2-3 days in person. The HR Coordinator role will require working at our Association Office located in Downtown Seattle as well as potentially commuting to our other centers/program sites.
POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Evening and weekend work could be required on occasion to support organizational needs.

Qualifications
+ High school diploma or equivalent.
+ Two years or more of related experience.
+ High degree of discretion and confidentiality.
+ Ability to juggle multiple competing priorities.
+ Ability to work independently and with a team.
+ Intermediate computer skills.
+ Experience with Microsoft Office suite, (e.g., Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
+ Knowledge of and previous experience with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
Preferred Experience
+ Previous experience working in Human Resources.
