Job Summary
The HR Director, Corporate has broad accountability for developing and delivering key people outcomes for the global corporate functions, most of which operate within a complex, matrixed organizational structure embedded within the Americas and International business units. Specifically, this role leads the development and execution of human resources programs and initiatives for the Corporate Functions (Finance, IT, Legal, and Human Resources) including but not limited to performance and talent management, workforce planning, salary review, organizational change, engagement and culture, and employee relations. The HR Director personally acts as a strategic partner, change agent, and member of the senior management team for the Finance organization. Coaches the Sr. Manager, Corporate to effectively support the senior management team for the IT organization. Partners with the VPHR Americas/Corporate to support the HR and Legal organizations. Additionally, as a key member of the North America Central Services Leadership Team, the individual in this role provides management oversight for the North America Payroll and Talent Acquisition teams. Finally, the individual in the role is the owner of the Global Talent Acquisition Center of Excellence where responsibilities include leading the team to support developing, analyzing, implementing and maintaining global talent acquisition processes; and ensuring through audits and personal interactions that company hiring programs are consistently administered in compliance with company policies and government regulations. Direct reports to this role include: Sr. Manager, HR Corporate; Manager, HR Employee Relations; and Manager, Payroll Operations, North America.
Responsibilities
+ Partner with business leaders in areas of accountability to develop and implement effective HR programs and practices that will support the strategic People Plan and generate real business value
+ Develop a deep understanding of the ACCO Brands employment brand, globally, in order to discover insights that lead to the improvement of the Employee Experience
+ Take a consultative approach with business leaders, anticipating, assessing, and providing creative HR solutions to real-time business issues and priorities; and to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues
+ Lead workforce planning to analyze, forecast, and plan talent supply and demand; assess skill and resource gaps; and design and execute the appropriate talent management interventions to ensure the organization has the right people with the right skills at the right time
+ Educate, coach, and partner with managers at all levels on performance management, employee development, and succession planning
+ Provide HR expertise in the areas of feedback, employee relations, recognition, employee development and coaching, compensation, and organizational development
+ Maintain a strong understanding of the internal job hierarchy, job levels, compensation best practices, compensation analysis, calibration and internal pay equity; provide coaching and support to business teams to ensure appropriate execution
+ Ensure HR Connect changes (e.g. cost center changes, job code changes, pay changes) are entered and approved in an accurate and timely fashion
+ Ensure accuracy of HR data. Analyze, interpret and draw data insights across various types of employee data to guide decision making in a compelling way that provides proactive solutions to the business
+ As HR for HR, provide leadership in partnership with the Talent Centers of Excellence and HRVPs to deliver/build critical capabilities and robust career pathing and developing strategies at all levels and around the globe
+ Maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance
+ Conduct confidential, sensitive investigations as needed
+ Direct the work of the Talent Acquisition team in North America, to include proactive planning for workforce staffing requirements
+ Help maintain balanced recruiting capabilities supplementing core internal team with both external (contract) and internal (HR team) resources during demand surges
+ Assess, monitor, and mitigate structural and behavior biases in talent acquisition and compensation programs and policies
+ In partnership with the HRIS team, ensure the HRConnect recruiting modules balance industry best practice adoption with internal needs
+ Manage the Payroll function in North America to ensure smooth and flawless operations, cost effective and efficient payroll processes and systems, and maintain compliance as a Tier 1 payroll
+ Ensure effectives vendor relationships for all payroll and talent acquisition support providers
+ Partner with finance to deliver the budget; collect and validate relevant data to ensure all financials are calculated accurately, timely and in accordance with plan provisions
+ Proactively monitor trends, regulations, and proposed laws to ensure payroll and talent acquisition programs and policies are legally compliant
+ Develop, monitor, and report key performance measures, including but not limited to time to fill, diversity representation, voluntary turnover, payroll process compliance, employee satisfaction with talent acquisition and programs, and key stakeholder satisfaction
+ Serve as a role model for ACCO Brands values and leadership promise
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, General Business
+ 12+ years experience preferred (minimum 8 years experience)
+ 5+ years people leadership skills including mentoring, technical training, and day-to-day management of direct reports
+ Ability to establish strategic direction and drive execution
+ Adept at managing in a matrix structure with strong influence and skills
+ Proven ability to drive maximum organizational effectiveness through strong knowledge of core people-related processes and pragmatic delivery approaches
+ Ability to evaluate, interpret, and incorporate people data into decision-making process
+ Perform work under minimal supervision
+ Handle complex issues and problems, escalating when appropriate
+ Strong sense of urgency and customer service orientation, with exceptional follow through skills
+ Model an inclusive leadership style, with the ability to understand and adapt to differences in cultural approaches
+ Exhibit excellent communication, interpersonal, listening, and collaborative skills
+ Ability to deal with sensitive and complex issues with integrity and maintain strict confidentiality
