JOB SUMMARY
Dir HR Strategic Services - Irving is responsible for implementing and monitoring human resources programs and policies for Baylor Scott and White Health (BSWH) for an assigned area of business operations. Areas of expertise include talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training and development, employee relations, performance management, and diversity. Administers and tailors human resources programs and policies that support BSWH business objectives and positively engage the workforce. Addresses employee questions and concerns regarding HR policies/programs. Ensures all documentation and records are accurate, kept up to date, and in compliance with regulatory requirements.
A region Director translates and implements strategic plans and objectives for area of responsibility. Makes final decisions on operational matters and ensures achievement of objectives. Recommends policies and organizational changes for area. Plans and executes projects and initiatives that meet annual objectives. Plans and directs the operations of a department or area, with responsibility for staffing, processes, budgets, and costs of the unit. Leads and advises subordinate(s) to meet schedules, resolve technical problems, and monitor performance. Has a larger, more complex organization or functional area than a manager. Often has one or more managers or supervisors reporting to the role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
1. Directs strategic HR services as HR business partner for an assigned area of responsibility for BSWH.
2. Identifies, establishes, and cultivates relationships with business and clinical partners, understanding the business and identifying human capital requirements to ensure HR solutions meet organizational needs.
3. Meets regularly with operational leaders to partner on specific business challenges, issues, and priorities and develops HR strategies that further the goals and business objectives of the entire organization.
4. Advises leaders in establishing clear standards for performance, employee engagement, and retention.
5. Develops and maintains partnerships across the HR function and HR centers of excellence to deliver value added services to leaders and employees, accelerating organizational change and effectiveness.
6. Coaches and guides the leadership teams with a goal to increase their leadership, best practices, and HR competencies and expertise.
7. Applies foundational organizational development tools to drive and manage change, enable process improvement, and maximize employee engagement performance.
8. Translates strategic and operational business plans of client groups into HR strategic and operational plans that add value.
9. Leads the HR planning and development of organizational alignment and structures, architecture, and support systems to enhance the facility’s evolving business needs and objectives.
10. Collaborates with business leaders to implement performance planning, talent planning, performance management and reward programs that link with a progressive, well-tailored succession and organizational planning process.
KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
1. Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related degree preferred.
2. 3+ years of experience in Human Resources or related field, with healthcare experience preferred.
3. Experience in a leadership role preferred.
4. HR Certifications preferred (e.g., SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, SHRM-CP).
5. Experience as an HR business partner supporting multiple client groups preferred.
6. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
7. Ability to create strong business relationships with business leaders and key stakeholders.
8. Ability to work collaboratively across a large, matrixed healthcare organization to ensure HR programs and messaging are delivered quickly, consistently, and effectively across multiple channels and locations.
