Job Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for managing day-to-day HR operations, including recruitment, on-boarding, performance management, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. This role requires a proactive approach to developing and implementing HR strategies that align with the company’s goals and foster a positive work environment.
- Recruitment and Onboarding:
- Assists with the recruitment process, including onboarding, entering drug screens and background checks.
- Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications.
- Conduct new employee orientations and ensure a smooth onboarding process.
- Performance Management:
- Assist in the development and implementation of performance management systems.
- Support managers in setting performance goals and development plans.
- Compensation and Benefits:
- Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and leave policies.
- Assist employees with benefits inquiries and claims.
- Training and Development:
- Identify training needs and coordinate training sessions and programs.
- Support career development initiatives and succession planning.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make improvements.
- Compliance and Record-Keeping:
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations, including EEO, ADA, FMLA, etc.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and HR databases.
- Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
- HR Policies and Procedures:
- Develop, implement, and update HR policies and procedures.
- Ensure employees understand and adhere to company policies.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Safety and Health:
- Promote workplace safety and health initiatives.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work programs.
- HR Projects and Initiatives:
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support company goals.
- Contribute to diversity and inclusion initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in HR roles, preferably as an HR Generalist.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices and labor laws.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- This is an office-based position (1-2 days if commutable to office) or can be remote with occasional travel to company locations.
- Flexibility to work extended hours as needed.
