We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced HR Generalist to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. This is a permanent position that offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our ongoing growth and success. The HR Generalist will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, benefits administration, leave of absence management, and more. If you have a passion for people, a commitment to service, and a strong understanding of the HR best practices and laws, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities
As an HR Generalist, your primary responsibilities will include:
1. Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducting effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
2. Maintaining in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
3. Providing day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
4. Administering and managing employee benefits programs, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
5. Overseeing the leave of absence process, including tracking leaves and providing necessary communications and documentation.
6. Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
7. Assisting with the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contributing to the development of policies.
8. Participating in evaluation and monitoring of success of training programs. Follow-up to ensure training objectives are met.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for the HR Generalist position will have the following qualifications:
1. A minimum of 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist role, preferably within the construction industry.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
3. Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations.
4. Proven experience managing employee relations, benefits, and leave of absence.
5. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.
6. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
7. High level of integrity and ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with poise, tact, and diplomacy.
8. Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems.
9. SHRM-CP or PHR certification is preferred.
