Job Summary:
Our client is seeking an experienced Human Resource Manager to provide proactive HR leadership, counsel, and strategic support within their plant facility. This role will focus on aligning people strategies with the department's and company's business objectives. The HR Manager will consult with department leadership to strengthen people management capabilities and act as a catalyst for culture change, ensuring alignment with desired behaviors and guiding principles. Key stakeholders include the Division VP, VP of HR, Plant Manager, and department leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic HR Leadership: Provide advice and counsel to all levels of plant leadership in developing and executing people strategies that align with and drive department and company objectives.
- Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Lead recruitment efforts by selecting qualified candidates, conducting initial interviews, managing pre-employment processes, and overseeing onboarding.
- Legal Compliance & Recordkeeping: Ensure legal compliance with employee records, maintaining HR documentation in alignment with Federal and State employment laws, including FMLA and Workers' Compensation.
- Safety Management: Coordinate and conduct monthly safety training for managers and hourly associates, ensuring compliance with safety policies throughout the facility.
- Employee Relations: Investigate employee complaints and concerns, working to resolve issues in a timely and effective manner.
- Payroll Management: Review and submit weekly payroll, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with company standards.
- Multi-Tasking & Organization: Manage and prioritize multiple tasks with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness.
- HR Systems & Tools: Utilize HR software such as ADP Vantage Suite for payroll, benefits, and employee management, and ensure proficiency in Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred but not required)
- Minimum of 5 years of HR management experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment
- Strong knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, including FMLA, Workers' Compensation, and labor laws
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff
- Proficiency in HR systems, particularly ADP Vantage Suite, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on employee relations and safety compliance
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
