We are looking for a HR Operations and Benefits Specialist to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to the Benefits Manager and based in San Jose, California. This is a fully on-site, in office role.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information.
- Assists with new hire orientations.
- Performs quality checks of benefits-related data.
- Assists employees regarding benefits questions.
- Participates in the development and delivery of all Open Enrollment communications and materials.
- Tests all changes made in the configuration of the benefits system (Workday)
- Interacts with Third-Party Administrators to troubleshoot enrollment issues.
- Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries.
- Coordinates with Leave of Absence Third-Party Administrator and HR Managers for leaves requests, administration and returns from leave.
- Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes and contribution amounts.
- Assists with preparation of Form 5500, Section 125 Non-Discrimination Testing, and ACA annual reporting.
- Administers the tuition reimbursement program.
- Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges and contribution changes.
- Provides as needed support to HR Operations team (data audits, data entry, HR inquiries mailbox)
- Include travel requirements here if needed
Skills and Experience:
- Knowledge of employee benefits and applicable laws.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Knowledge of Workday Benefits a plus
Required:
- Associate’s degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education.
- Two years’ experience in HR and/or benefits administration.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field of study.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential.
Physical Requirements (optional):
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to ten pounds at a time.
