We operate a small college-like campus in Fair Oaks that houses many of our students full-time. We are seeking a dynamic individual who would thrive as an HR/Payroll Generalist. The HR/Payroll Generalist is an integral part of our team and should be comfortable working on reconciliations, processing payroll, recruiting new staff, and acting as a positive resource for employees.

Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.

The HR/Payroll Generalist is the on-campus HR representative for all employees and a positive leader. The position works closely with the accounting team. The HR/Payroll Generalist is an integral part of our team and will perform payroll and benefits administration in addition to many other general HR duties. - $72,000 - $82,000 depending on experience
- Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance; a substantial portion paid by Meristem

Core Responsibilities:
HR Management
- Manage time off and employee leave
- Update safety and workplace policies
- Facilitate Ipp and OSHA trainings
- Recruit, post new job openings, screen candidates using the JazzHR platform
- Coordinate annual reviews and establish performance plans
- Onboard new employees (facilitate background and drug tests, and establish Paylocity and IT account)
- Develop and update HR policies and strategic initiatives
- Respond to HR employee-related inquiries and conduct investigations as needed
- Maintain and update employee files and records Organize professional opportunities for staff
- Organize professional opportunities for staff
- Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 95 staff and interns
- Be the liaison between employees and administration for employee timecard preparation and supervisor timecard approvals
- Manage and approve all HR vendor-related invoices
- Assist with administering the employee 401k plan offered by Cal Choice
- Manage Open Enrollment
- Generate and analyze payroll-related reports each pay period
- Assist with payroll HR, and benefits budget planning
- Coordinate Regional Center stipend program
- Work collaboratively with the Accounting team
- Update Directors and managers on HR regulations
- Act as HR and Payroll representative and a resource on campus for employees
- Bachelor’s degree -Preferred
- HR Certification Preferred
- Knowledge of Paylocity – Preferred
- Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial budgeting
- Knowledge of QuickBooks, Ease, Cal Savers – A Plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) and Google Docs
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- Consistently takes initiative

- Excel as a multi-tasker and has an adaptive mindset.
