Position Overview:

AJM Packaging Corporation, one of America’s leading manufacturers of paper products, including paper plates, cups, bowls, and bags, has an immediate opening for an HR Specialist in our Bloomfield Hills, MI Corporate office. The HR Specialist will interact with nine plant facilities as well as the Corporate office. Directly participate in daily human resources activities and help serve as a human resources liaison between the Corporate office and the field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain records of personnel activities such as hires, promotions, status changes, and terminations.
• Review and enter new hire information into UKG payroll system. Complete and organize new hire packets for filing purposes.
• Respond to inquiries regarding human resources-related policies, procedures, and programs.
• Coordinate and distribute monthly service award recognition certificates.
• Process critical weekly invoices for medical insurance, first-aid only and legal related matters.
• Process requests for time off.
• Complete verification of employment requests
• All other duties the Supervisor deems necessary.

Qualifications

• Associate degree and two years or more of related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Possess strong organizational skills and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience working in the UKG Payroll system.
• Experience and capability of handling confidential and/or restricted information.
• Strong Excel skills including v-look ups and pivot table knowledge.
• Working knowledge of personal computers, scanners, and various software applications.
• Ability to speak and write in Spanish would be beneficial.
