JOB SUMMARY:
As the HR Specialist, you'll be responsible for overseeing and managing key human resources functions, including payroll administration, benefits management, employee leaves, onboarding, training, and serving as the first point of contact for employees in the office. Operating under management guidance, you're expected to align your actions with WV's mission, goals, plans, policies, and distinctive culture.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Management:
Process and maintain accurate payroll records, ensuring timely and accurate compensation. Collaborate with Finance to address any payroll discrepancies and ensure compliance with tax and reporting regulations.
Benefits Administration:
Oversee employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks. Act as a liaison with benefits providers and assist employees with enrollment, claims, and inquiries.
Leave Management:
Administer and track employee leave programs, including FMLA, sick leave, and PTO. Ensure compliance with leave policies and provide support to employees regarding leave-related questions.
Onboarding & Offboarding:
Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, including orientation and document completion, and manage the offboarding process for departing employees, including exit interviews and final paperwork.
Training & Development:
Assist in planning, coordinating, and tracking employee training programs, ensuring compliance with mandatory training requirements and supporting career development initiatives.
General HR Support & Office Liaison:
Serve as the first point of contact for employee inquiries on HR policies and workplace matters, while providing general HR administrative support and fostering a positive work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
- 2+ years of experience in HR, with a focus on payroll, benefits administration, and employee relations.
- Strong knowledge of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance regulations.
- Experience with HRIS systems is preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
