We are currently seeking a Workday System Analyst to provide support and training to the HR Shared Services and Business Unit users of our Workday platform with modules for HCM, Recruiting, Time Tracking, Absence Management, Payroll, Benefits, Talent Optimization and Advanced Compensation.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:
- Lead or assist with the project management of the implementation and integration of HRIS with newly acquired businesses, as well as the implementation of system enhancements. This includes, but is not limited to, analysis, design, development, testing and deployment.
- Collaborate with the AMS services vendor to progress projects, and to continuously learn and grow within the Workday ecosystem.
- Serve as an HR business analyst and subject-matter expert on projects; work with functional users to understand, define, and document requirements and processes; prepare system requirements and specifications, keeping the best interests of the operating companies and HR system structure in mind.
- Responsible for testing functionality, performance, and usability during system upgrades; create test scenarios for end-users to confirm all processes work according to predetermined goals.
- Establish an understanding of how processes and system modifications affect downstream processes and systems and how system and/or process changes are affected by business unit cultures and requirements.
- Recommend process improvements and/or innovative solutions to solve problems identified by functional users.
- Ensure proper maintenance of system configuration and data management -- table structures, data fields, code definitions, security matrices, and system interfaces.
- Provide technical support and conduct data integrity analysis for annual HR-related activities such as benefits open enrollment periods and annual performance evaluations; handle various imports and exports as required.
- Assist with mass organizational communication and document distribution.
- Design, develop, and generate reports; includes development and generation of standard reports for ongoing business needs to include, running and validating general ledger payroll reports on a weekly basis.
- Maintain payroll code to general ledger mapping in the payroll system and assist in research of payroll and mapping variances.
- Generate reports needed for federal and state compliance.
- Develop system administration documentation; prepare user-level system guidelines/documentation; train users on new processes/functionality.
- Participate as a project team member with minimal direction and supervision.
- Provide SME advisory services and guidance to management and HR teams regarding system requirements based on the individual operating company’s resources and needs.
- Perform any other special HR projects and duties as assigned.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Work most of the time in an office environment. Occasional time in a production or warehouse environment may be required to meet organizational needs.
- To perform this job successfully an individual should have the means and ability to travel regionally up to 10%, with rare, but possible, non-regional travel, and occasional variability in travel demands based on business needs.
EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 3 or more years of Workday HR system administration/support experience required; experience maintaining system and business functions in complex environments preferred; HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred.
- Experience with multiple HRIS systems is preferred.
- Experience with advanced level Excel is required.
- Strong understanding of HR business processes and how to maximize use of HRIS technology for efficiency and accuracy.
- Strong understanding of HR System database design including table structures, business rules, functions, and processes; experience with database tools required.
- Demonstrated success and experience managing projects with responsibility for project planning, requirements gathering, change management, business process change, and delivery coordination.
- Proficient working with large amounts of data, ensuring data integrity throughout the system and any associated data feeds from other sources; demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Possess the ability to think analytically through complex HR related and general business issues; attention to detail and accuracy is a must.
- Organized, possesses strong time management skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Motivated self-starter with a willingness to learn; demonstrated ability to be successful whether working independently or in a team environment; demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with a wide range of individuals up to and including senior management.
- Ability to function both tactically and strategically.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Computer Science, Information Systems, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Current PHR or SPHR Certification through HRCI preferred.
