Role Description
We are presently identifying candidates for our client for the following position: Human Geography Analyst - Journeyman. The Human Geographer shall provide direct support to GEOINT analysts engaged in in-depth GEOINT production, research, and ad-hoc projects, using multiple computer databases and special-source libraries. Human Geographers (HG) will use Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) technical skills, language skills, and potentially in-country intelligence experience to collect, analyze, and disseminate human geography context vital to warfighters, the Intelligence Community (IC), and first responders. HG analysts will work together with various IC Agencies and Open-Source Libraries to identify and acquire information/sources concerning cultural, socio-economic, political and topographic activities. Geospatial information from all available sources (open, academic, and classified sources in all formats) shall be identified, obtained, and exploited for all available "nuggets" of information. These services require experience with digital cartography, academic and classified databases, geographical information systems, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry and digital data formats. The services also require knowledge of cross platform intelligence research tools such as, but are not limited to NES or its follow-on, TRIDENT and/or M3, PLANTIR, REMOTEVIEW, CIRCAS, Voyager, RAS, Map Service Center catalog, COLISEUM, and GEMINI.
Minimum Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen.
- Active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance at time of application and willingness to complete a CI poly upon request.
- Three to ten (3-10) years relevant experience with High School diploma and specialized training.
- Bachelor's degree in related field can be included for up to 4 years of experience.
- Master's degree in related field can be included for an additional two years of experience.
- Familiarity with MS Office, data mining, ability to develop and manipulate, and maintain databases.
- Demonstrated experience in creating visual aids (graphs, charts, etc.) and drafting, editing and proofreading documents for publishing.
- Demonstrated experience with ArcView, ArcGIS, RemoteView, ArcIMS, NIMAMuse, ERDAS Imagine, MR SID Remote View, MicroStation, AutoCAD, raster products, Macromedia Dreamweaver, Macromedia Fireworks, MS FrontPage, Photoshop, HTML, Frame Maker
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred candidates should have completed Formal/Advanced Military IA Training (Tech School, Advanced Individual Training, A School, or other MOS/AFSC/Rate granting equivalent
Responsibilities
- Knowledge and experience with digital cartography, computer technology, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Cartographic and Geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, photogrammetry, and digital data formats.
- Knowledge and experience with cross-platform, commercial and government exploitation tools such as ArcMap, ERDAS Imagine, MapInfo, Remote View, Arc View, FoxPro, Arc INFO, Arc IMS, Dynamo, GeoMedia Professional, and e-mail and common office software to include spreadsheets and word processing.
- Demonstrated MS Word, PowerPoint, and graphic design skills.
- Demonstrated participation in and/or directing the activities of highly skilled technical and analytical teams responsible for developing solutions to highly complex analytical/intelligence problems.
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated customer support skills.
- Be a self-starter, be able to work alone, yet be able to share information with team members and customers in a timely manner.
- Understanding of NGA's Geospatial Policies like International Policy, Co-Production, and dissemination of data.
- Collaborating effectively with NGA regional analysts, geospatial analysts, imagery analysts, military officers, cartographers, intelligence analysts, engineers, technicians, managers, vendors, or other customers.
- Knowledge gained through cartographic experience, regional accounts, imagery tasks, program management, or geospatial tasks.
Work Environment
Work is within a team environment and will be conducted on site in either St. Louis, MO or Springfield, VA.
