+ Location: Cleveland Clinic- 9500 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44195. Note: online applications accepted only.
+ Schedule: Shifts will vary. Includes some evening/weekend/holiday shifts. More details upon interview. Open availability from 7am-7pm
+ Requirement: Required Hospital experience preferred. Adult and pediatric formulas.
+ Upon completion of technician courses, rate will increase to $22 an hour
+ Pay Range: $17.00 to $22.00
Summary: As a Human Milk and Formula Room Technician at Cleveland Clinic Main Campus, you will play a critical role in providing specialized care to premature and critically ill newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and children in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unity (PICU). Your primary responsibility will be to prepare and manage human milk and specialized formulas for infants and children. Recipes for formula and/or human milk are provided by Registered Dieticians (RD) and are prepared and distributed daily to the patient care units by formula room technicians. We are also responsible for inventory and supplies, proper sanitation, and quality assurance. This role demands precision, compassion, and a deep commitment to the well-being of our more fragile and vulnerable patients.

+ Participates and attends departmental meetings and staff development programs, as appropriate.
+ Reads and complies with all policies and procedures of Morrison and Compass as appropriate.
+ Performs other tasks as may be assigned.
Qualifications
+ Required Education and Experience:
+ High School Diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Preferred education/background:
+ Associate or bachelor's degree in nutrition-related, health sciences, mathematics, or related field.
+ Dietetic Interns and Dietetic Technicians Registered (DTR) are encouraged to apply as these skillsets match the requirements of this job. You would be afforded the opportunity to work in an acute care setting to garner a greater understanding of the NICU and PICU.
+ Adhere to a strict professional Code of Ethics for patient confidentiality and safety.
Language Skills:
+ Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
+ Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
+ Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of facility.
+ Confidence to articulate needs for diet order clarity for specific individualized patient needs when contacting Registered Dieticians and Nurses.
Mathematical Skills:
+ Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
+ Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Computer Skills:
+ Learn and implement the necessary skills to effectively operate hospital's system, EPIC, to access confidential patient information regarding diet orders, admission, discharge and transfer system and other computer-based systems, which manage patient records.
+ Cohesively and effectively navigate the Microsoft Platform.
+ Be willing to learn new software and adapt to software updates.
Reasoning Ability:
+ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
+ Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Job Summary
Summary: Under the direction of the Patient Services Manager and/or Clinical Nutrition Manager, responsible for patient menu management, data collection, and diet office functions, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Distributes and collect menus.
+ Assists patients in completing menu selections in compliance with prescribed diet, as assigned by dietitian.
+ Offers alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with food allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences when patient inquires or needs additional selections.
+ Plans regular and modified menus based on current diet manual.
+ Prepares and distributes supplements, tube feedings, and enteral formula in an accurate and timely manner.
+ May be responsible for the preparation, distribution, inventory and management of human/donor milk and/or infant formula.
+ Adheres to facility confidentiality, HIPAA regulations, and patient's rights policies.
+ Complies with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state and TJC.
+ Completes all required documentation, reports and logs.
+ Follows facility and department infection-control policies and procedures.
+ Participates in facility-wide and department Performance Improvement Program and on Performance Improvement teams to improve processes and patient care.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
