Job Description:
Assists the Human Resources Manager in the administration of all phases of human resources activity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Recruiting
- Prepares and coordinates Internal Job Postings.
- Prepares and submits external employment advertisements.
- Conducts telephone interviews with potential candidates.
- Coordinates scheduling of on-site interviews with appropriate interview panel participants.
- Performs post offer background checks.
- Coordinates scheduling of post offer exam screening.
- Maintains proper documentation related to the Company's Affirmative Action Plan (AAP).
New Hire Onboarding
- Conducts new hire orientation and on-boarding training, including issuing Security Badges.
- Prepares and submits necessary paperwork to for new hire onboarding.
- Ensures employee documentation is accurate and complete.
Benefits
- Assists the Human Resources Manager in conducting benefit meetings during open enrollment and with new hires prior to their eligibility date.
- Inputs all additions, changes, and terminations into the appropriate benefit web-sites.
- Assists in resolving employee issues and questions.
Payroll
- Generates payroll or personnel data reports as needed.
- Monitors and verifies time and attendance issues and alerts Supervisors and Human Resources Manager to any attendance concerns.
Administrative
- Welcomes on-site visitors, determines nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
- Retrieves messages from voice mail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
- Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
- Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voice mail when appropriate personnel are unavailable.
- Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
- Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
- Updates appointment calendars and receives, sorts, and routes mail.
Other
- Assists the Human Resources Manager in any new or current projects as needed.
- Provides coverage of switchboard and front desk duties.
Education and/or Experience:
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or minimum of three (3) years Human Resources related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have proficient typing and computer skills including knowledge of internet software, Database software; Internet software; Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software (MS Excel), Microsoft Project, Word Processing software (MS Word), PowerPoint, Visio, and Email software (Microsoft 365).
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25-50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
