Summary You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MILITARY) in the ???????Naval Reserve Officers' Training Corps (NROTC) Units and Strategic Sealift Midshipman Program (SSMP) Units within the NSTC Domain of NROTC SUNY MARITIME. Salary Range for GS-05: $46,494 - $60,439 Salary Range for GS-06: $51,829 - $67,379 Responsibilities You will have experience with DOD and DON regulations to develop procedures and methods leading to a commission for NROTC candidates. You will have experience with NROTC organizational functions, procedures, regulations, and time constraints involved in processing Midshipmen. You will have experience with filing systems and reference materials in order to research and prepare a variety of reports and correspondence. You will have experience communicating effectively, verbally and in writing, with thorough knowledge of grammar, punctuation, and spelling. You will have experience with OPMIS and TOPS systems used within NROTC. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-06 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-05) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Maintaining filing systems of various records; 2) Entering data into automated database systems; 3) Reviewing documents for completeness and compliance with established guidelines; and 4) Utilizing office automation equipment and software in order to prepare a variety of forms and correspondence. GS-05 Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-04) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Knowledge of human resources procedures; 2) Ability to use personal computer to prepare documents; 3) Ability to use software programs to extract, revise, or sort data; and 4) Receiving calls, greeting visitors, responding to routine requests for information.
