About the Job
This is a Fulltime 40 hour a week onsite position.
The Human Resources Assistant performs administrative duties under direct supervision. This entry-level role involves regular contact with staff, applicants, and interns. The HR Assistant will support various HR functions, including:
- Assisting with basic benefit administration tasks
- Helping maintain time-off records and absence management
- Supporting record-keeping and file maintenance
- Aiding in the coordination of recognition and wellness programs
- Assisting with CME/educational program administration
The HR Assistant will help process unemployment and worker's compensation claims under supervision. They will also assist in preparing and processing personnel and/or payroll actions. The role includes supporting the interviewing, on-boarding, and exiting processes for staff members.
This position requires a basic understanding of HR policies and procedures and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. The role primarily involves administrative and operational tasks with guidance from senior HR staff.
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate's degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred
- Coursework or training in human resources, benefits, or payroll administration is a plus
Experience Required:
- 1-2 years of experience in an administrative role, preferably in a human resources setting
- Basic knowledge of HR practices and procedures
- Strong customer service and organizational skills
- Proficiency in MS Office/Outlook and familiarity with internet-based applications
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with administrative tasks related to HR operations
- Support the maintenance of employee records and HR databases
- Help coordinate new employee orientation and on-boarding processes
- Assist in benefits administration and employee inquiries
- Support payroll processing and time-off tracking
- Aid in the preparation of HR reports and documentation
- Assist with recruitment activities, including scheduling interviews and maintaining applicant records
- Support HR initiatives and special projects as assigned
