The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management to drive organizational success. This role involves building partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added services that reflect the organization’s goals. Key responsibilities include managing Learning and Development (LOD), compliance, the annual performance review cycle, and benefits administration. In collaboration with the Senior Director, Human Resources the HRBP will address employee relations and grievances, resolve complex issues, and promote a positive work environment. The HRBP will also oversee talent management processes, including recruitment, onboarding, employee development, performance management, and offboarding. Additionally, this role will develop and implement HR policies while ensuring compliance with employment laws and best practices. Strong analytical skills are essential for assessing metrics and providing strategic solutions that enhance organizational effectiveness and employee satisfaction.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other position(s) in the department.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Senior Director, Human Resources to support organization initiatives, programs, policy changes while enhancing organization culture.
- Manages all benefit programs provided by ACOG including medical, dental, leave of absence, disability, retirement, transportation subsidy, education assistance and worker’s compensation.
- Oversees performance management system including: annual performance evaluations, mid-year check ins, coaching managers on performance improvement process and follow-up actions.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as needed/required.
- Partners up and provides day-to-day performance management guidance to people managers (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Works closely with people managers and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Identifies training needs for people managers and individual coaching needs.
- Develops and maintains ACOG’s Learning and Organizational (LOD), compliance and mandatory trainings organization wide.
- Develops, maintain and update personnel policies and procedures, ensuring their implementation conforms to best practices, applicable laws and regulations.
- Provides effective operational services and advice to business leaders.
- Provides guidance and consultation, with support from the Senior Director, Human Resources to managers on employee relation matters including mitigating risk for difficult or sensitive situations.
- Develops tailored training programs and ensure HR data/reporting is effective.
- Supports recruitment process by maintaining job descriptions for accuracy, conducting phone screens for Director-level and above positions, and providing back-up with new hire orientation.
- Partners with Associate HR Business Partner while processing terminations and the employee separation process.

Required Skills/Abilities:

- Experience in conflict resolution, organizational development, training, benefits, talent acquisition, and compensation
- Skilled in writing policies and procedures
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other related software
- Availability: 2-3 days per week on-site in Washington, DC
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Human Resources certification (SHRM, PHR, etc.), preferred
- Minimum 7 years related experience

Compensation
The base salary for this position is $85,000 - $95,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition, ACOG offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes the perks outlined below.
