The HR Business Partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit's operations, strategic plans, and culture.
This is a hybrid role with travel between programs required.
Minimum Education Required:Bachelor's DegreeResponsibilities:- Implements human resources programs by providing human resources generalist services with a strong focus on employee relations and retention as well as knowledge of talent acquisition, compensation, health and welfare benefits, training and development, records management, safety and health, AA/EEO compliance, and completing employee transactions.
- Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to management (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Partners with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
- Develops human resources solutions by collecting and analyzing information, recommending courses of action.
- Improves manager and employee performance by identifying and clarifying problems; evaluating potential solutions; implementing selected solutions; coaching and counseling managers and employees.
- Completes special projects by clarifying project objective; setting timetables and schedules; conducting research; developing and organizing information; fulfilling transactions.
- Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
- Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
- Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.
- Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.
- Perform all duties in accordance with Advocates’ policies and procedures.
- Strictly follow all agency Performance Standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with Employee Relations on an HR Team.
- SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential preferred.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
- Creative problem solver.
- Confident, clear communicator.
- Experience conducting and documenting investigations.
- Strong computer skills. Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding employment and labor laws.
- Ability to interpret personnel policies, communicate effectively, both orally and in writing and interact effectively with agency management and staff.
- High energy level, superior interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a team atmosphere.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Must hold a valid drivers’ license and have access to an automobile to travel between sites.
