Purpose of Position
Reporting to the VP Human Resources, the California HR Manager has responsibility for overseeing human resources function for the seven U.S. facilities in California (approximately 200 employees), as well as provide support on regional or global projects providing value to overall employee experience.
- Develop and maintain close relationships across the facilities and local cross functional roles providing for clear direction and HR leadership presence. Be the primary point of contact for General Managers of the facilities.
- Partner with the Sr. HR Managers for each of the modalities that these facilities are included in for various projects and analytics.
- Provide strong employee relations support.Openly listen and respond to employee and manager questions, issues or concerns and recommend appropriate actions to address them. Work with managers to enforce employment policies.
- Lead the implementation of Global HR initiatives and processes through effective communication and driving change for these facilities. These initiatives include employee engagement, performance management, managerial effectiveness and compensation reviews.
- Partner with recruiters and the facilities for all position hiring.
- Ensure proactive guidance to both employees and supervisors on the interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures, particularly the California requirements.
- Support global projects such as career pathing, engagement survey action planning and onboarding.
Knowledge and Background
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience in California.
- Bachelor's degree (Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Management or other applicable field) from an accredited College/University.
- Broad HR background and understanding of the function supporting implementation of HR programs and initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of California employment laws and practices.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to solve problems, make informed decisions and influence others
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills and ability to communicate within a matrix organization
- Strong drive for results
- Ability to leverage technology and defined processes to support execution of services.
- Detail oriented with ability to work independently in fast-paced environment. Cross functional partnering with other departments: operations, sales, engineering, quality, EHS.

Salary Range
- $82,500 - $134,000 per year, depending on experience.
