Position Summary:
Human Resources Manager supports all resort operations staff through recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, recordkeeping, benefits, and compliance; provides onsite office and administrative support of HR management. Must be well versed in benefits, wage and salary administration, employee relations, training and development, and employee relations.
Position Responsibilities:
- Recruitment:
- Performs recruitment activities to obtain qualified candidates; prepares job posts with complainant and approved job descriptions.
- Coordinates with Hiring Manager by screening applications, facilitating interviews with Hiring Manager and Candidate schedules and notifies confirms appointments.
- Follows up and responds to all applicants upon completion of interviews and ensures timely communication is maintained for all candidates, including anyone rejected.
- Onboarding:
- Coordinates background checks and pre-hire processes
- Conducts new hire onboarding, ensures compliance and completion on new hires 1st day of work, and ensures proper documentation and acknowledgements are finalized within 3 days of hire.
- Employment Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate, timely HRIS database; provides information staff and may instruct others in system updates needed.
- Ensure compliance through documentation of all attendance for new hire employee development, general training, and safety programs; informs supervisors and employees of available training opportunities.
- Reviews, verifies, and processes employee personnel; corrects errors and enters information into an HRIS and other databases.
- Facilitates and manages the administration and occupancy of employee housing units and staff lockers.
- Compliance
- Ensures all work is done in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations.
- Maintains personnel database files HRIS and ensures files follow laws and regulations.
- General Office and Administrative:
- Distributes employee mail.
- Maintains Human Resources office clean and organized.
- Contributes to the efficiency and effectiveness of the HR service to employees by offering suggestions and participating as an active member of a team.
- Demonstrates courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with public and staff; acts in a manner that promotes a harmonious and effective workplace environment.
Knowledge of:
- Principles, practices, and techniques of human resources administration, including recruitment and selection, job analysis, classification and compensation administration, employee relations.
- Applicable laws, codes, and regulations.
- Computer applications related to work.
- Records management principles and practices.
- Principles and techniques of preparing effective written informational or educational materials.
- Techniques for dealing with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, ethnic, and cultural backgrounds, in person and over the telephone, occasionally where relations may be confrontational or strained.
- Principles and techniques of making effective oral presentations.
Skill in:
- Performing professional-level human resources generalist duties.
- Carrying assigned analytical projects through, from data gathering to completion.
- Interpreting, applying, and explaining complex federal, state and local laws/regulations.
- Communicating effectively in oral and written forms, Spanish language skills desired.
- Preparing clear and concise reports, correspondence, and other written materials.
- Using initiative and independent judgment within general policy guidelines.
- Using tact, discretion, and prudence in dealing with those contacted in the course of the work.
Physical: Mobility to work in an office setting, use standard office equipment; stamina to sit for extended periods of time; strength to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; vision to read printed materials and computer screen; dexterity to utilize computer equipment; hearing and speech to communicate in person or over the telephone.
