Job Details
Your roles as HR Director is responsible for the overall development, administration, and evaluation of the Human Resources and Employee Benefits functions.
Below are the duties that are priorities and/or are subject to evaluation during performance reviews.
1. Maintains knowledge of industry trends and federal/state employment legislation and ensures company compliance.
2. Works with field to ensure compliance with the “Arizona Legal Workers Act”. Maintains our compliance with E-Verify System mandates.
3. Responsible for company’s compliance with all state and federal legislation pertaining to personnel and employee relations matters.
4. Works directly with supervisors and managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities relative to employee relations, the hiring process, and all
employee benefit concerns.
5. Daily administration of the employee benefit packages, 401(k) Plan, and all supplemental health coverage.
6. Involvement in the process and produce data for the annual testing of all applicable pension and retirement plans.
7. File appropriate 5500s on all qualified benefit plans per IRS guidelines.
8. Audit, remit and record 401(k) contributions to carriers in a secure, accurate, and confidential manner.
9. Coordinates the company’s Family and Medical Leave Act compliance, relative to documentation, employee/supervisor feedback, and education.
10. Coordinates Employee Handbook development, maintenance, distribution and acknowledgement
11. Work with Health Insurance Captive to develop census data and annual renewal.
12. Ensure employee benefit coverage is being paid for properly, and by working with vendors, ensure bills are reflecting accurate data as to levels of employee
coverage, etc. Coordinate monthly audit of carrier invoicing and bills are paid in a timely manner.
13. Provides training presentations relative to the topics of Employee Benefits and the New Hire Process when necessary.
14. Work closely with the Director of Loss Control on employee relations issues to ensure we are responding appropriately to employee concerns and/or management
issues relative to employee discipline, or work situations, etc.
15. Act as primary back-up to Payroll Manager, to ensure payroll is issued correctly and in a timely manner, during this position’s absence. Assist the PR Manager and
the CFO with the annual Workers Comp Audit, and W-2 process.
16. Act as the Privacy Officer in relation to all employee personal or group health information and ensure strict compliance with HIPAA regulations.
17. Manage employee hiring and separation process to ensure management decisions at time of termination are respected. Assist the Field in gathering necessary
information needed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Education, Certification, & Work Experience Requirements:
5 years of experience in personnel or employee benefit administration
Bachelor’s degree in personnel management or business administration
Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and ability.
SPHR or SHRM-SCP designation highly desired
Valid Drivers License

- Advanced computer and Database management skills.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and training to end users relative to Benefits &/or the HR process.
- Advanced knowledge in the field of Human Resources and Employee Benefits.
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of personnel in a diverse work community.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills.
- Ability to provide consistent and insightful training relative to job related practices.
