JOB SUMMARY
Supports operational and business goals by providing a broad range of Human Resources services to managers, supervisors, and employees, including: payroll, training, employee relations, policy interpretation, organizational development, employee engagement, benefits, and legal compliance.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Employee Relations
- Support and lead various HR programs across the site, projects include employee engagement and appreciation.
- Promotes an inclusive workplace by advising managers and supervisors on employee relations issues; including conflict resolution, performance improvement and enforcement of HR policies and practices.
- Maintains positive employee relations through communication and employee support.
- Assists in reviewing policies, programs, and practices to ensure value, compliance, fairness of application and effectiveness.
- Assist with investigations into employee complaints, concerns, or allegations, as needed.
- Participates in the creation and delivery of in-house training programs.
- Manages the termination process, including conducting and evaluating exit interviews, turnover, etc.
Payroll & HRIS
- Review timecards ensure accuracy and address any discrepancies with supervisors.
- Manage all employee payroll related changes and work with the corporate payroll team to ensure all changes are accurately reflected each payroll.
- Accurately and efficiently process payroll.
- Track call-offs and attendance, working with supervisors to issue disciplinary action when applicable.
- Responsible for processing employee changes and updates in HRIS system
- Assist with administration of the performance management system and the review process.
- Provide HR reports from HRIS and other systems to make data driven decisions.
Recruiting
- Works with department managers to identify staffing needs and assist with development of recruiting strategies.
- Participates in the interviewing process and candidate selection decisions.
- Assists the Talent Acquisition Specialist with recruiting efforts as needed.
- Responsible for extending job offers and coordinating start dates with hiring managers.
- Manage the onboarding process including facilitating new hire orientation and processing new hire paperwork.
Benefits
- Performs benefit administration and answers employee benefit questions.
- Participates in Open Enrollment, new hire benefit elections, and oversees the employee benefit process.
- Works with employees and supervisors to educate, create, process, and maintain all aspects related to FMLA and Personal Leave of Absence.
Miscellaneous
- Maintains knowledge of legal requirement and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
- Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment.
- Responsible for maintaining monthly HR metrics.
- Responsible for responding to Assist with planning and executing employee events.
- Maintain accurate and up to date personnel files and employee records.
- Work on/participate in special projects as needed or assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education: Bachelors' degree in Human Resources Management or related field required, or equivalent experience
- Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of prior related experience, including prior responsibility for payroll
- Certifications/Licenses: PHR/SHRM-CP preferred.
- Other Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, proven ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, solid understanding of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ability to work with others through complex situations. Prior experience with UKG/Kronos is preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
- Working Environment: Indoor working environment within various areas of a foundry facility/office environment
- Physical Demands: Sitting/standing, using a computer screen, keyboard, and mouse for extended periods of time, ability to lift up to 20lbs occasionally, walking.
- Travel Requirements: Varies from 0-5%
- Required PPE: PPE varies throughout the plant, check with area supervisor to ensure proper PPE is being used.
- Safety Glasses: Needed in all areas of the plant.
- Steel Toe Shoes: Needed in all areas of the plant.
