What You Will Do:
The Human Resource Generalist provides operational, staffing, and development support for the HR Operations Managers at our Racine, WI facility. This includes assisting in recruiting and retention efforts for all plant hourly positions. The HR Generalist will assist with leading employee training and development activity, which includes the coordination, creation, and delivery of training . Additionally, the HR Generalist is key to engaging with our people to understand and continuously improve employee relations while striving to make API Heat Transfer the employer of choice for our community.
Training and Development
- Maintain and continuously improve training and development plan for hourly associates. Partner with plant leadership and SMEs to support communication and development of competencies.
- Coordinate, schedule, and deliver training as needed.
- Participates in Continuous Improvement of HR management systems, including weekly reporting on activity, tracking performance against defined objectives, and brainstorming and/or implementation of countermeasures to drive improvements.
Talent Acquisition/Onboarding
- Manage the hourly hiring efforts including interviewing, extending offers, and collaborating on talent acquisition initiatives.
- Lead onboarding to ensure smooth acclimation to the organization.
- Conduct orientation training on EHS and standard company policies and procedures, with a focus on continuously improving our delivery.
- Check-in with associates regularly to ensure their needs are met, voices are heard, and concerns are addressed.
Employee Relations
- Partners with HR Manager to resolve personnel concerns by conducting investigations, documenting findings, and following up with involved parties to close out issues.
- Facilitate offboarding of team members including conducting exit interviews.
- Manage disciplinary processes, in conjunction with supervisors and HR Managers.
- Update policies and employee handbook.
- Participate and guide the Employee Engagement Committee to help improve culture and create community.
What You Brin
- The desire and ability to participate on a team as a change agents, focused on continuous improvement of the capabilities of all API Heat Transfer processes and personnel.
- At least three years of related experience; Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience interacting and building credibility with all levels of the organization, from production associates to senior leaders.
- Collaborative approach and comfortable leading without authority.
- Must be proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Flexibility is needed as we continue to grow our company and processes.
