Summary
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for performing HR-related duties and works closely with senior HR management in supporting business operations teams throughout the US. In alignment with Flow Control Group's corporate Human Resources, the HR Manager carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, training, onboarding, policy adherence, recruitment, payroll administration and employment law compliance.
Responsibilities
- Manage the onboarding process, including new hire paperwork completion, background checks, benefits enrollment, safety orientation, etc., ensuring the best possible employee experience, including continuous evaluation for potential improvements.
- Assist with the HR Support Ticketing System. Identifies and elevates issue trends. E
- Support benefit policy adherence for 401(k), medical, dental, FSA, HSA, Life, LTD, STD, voluntary benefits, wellness programs, among others.
- Maintain, communicate, and update human resource documents, such as personnel records, employee handbooks, as well as company policies.
- Serve as a resource and coach to managers and employees to address performance improvement opportunities. Address employee relations issues and conduct investigations when needed.
- Handle matters relating to FMLA, company paid leave, safety, workers compensation, unemployment administration, etc.
- Assist with completion of various annual reports and surveys (EEO-1, OSHA 300A Form, Wage Surveys, etc.).
- Responsible for communicating with governmental agencies and legal entities (unemployment, EEOC, etc.) to resolve employment issues.
- Works closely with the finance team with calculating (i.e. Bonus and commissions) and submitting payroll information in a timely manner.
- Lead recruitment process through uploading of job posts, candidate reviews, building candidate profiles and pipeline.
- Coordinate and screen job applicants; review application/resume; evaluate applicant skills and make recommendations regarding applicant's qualifications.
- Willing to travel to visit site locations.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of Human Resources management experience, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
- Must be a team player, both positive and collaborative in approach.
- Progressive experience in employee relations, compliance, policy and procedure administration, benefits administration and strategy, as well as supervisory experience.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Outstanding communication skills are required, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrated project management and continuous improvement capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
