A successful manufacturer (with plants across the region) is searching for an HR Generalist who excels in employee relations for their Montgomery, AL facility. This HR Generalist provides service to roughly 90 employees in a highly competitive and fast-paced environment with a strong focus on quality, safety, and customer service. This important HR position reports to an off-site HR Director and assists with the HR oversight/management at the facility working closely with plant management. Plant-level responsibilities include employee relations, employee engagement, recruiting, benefits, employee training/development, and ADP payroll review. - Employee relations including employee engagement, retention, and HR compliance.
- Full life cycle recruiting including orientations and onboarding.
- Assist management team with HR procedure knowledge, employee coaching/training/development, and performance management.
- Benefits administration including leaves of absence, open enrollment, and troubleshooting issues.
- HR administrative duties include maintaining employee files and information including input of data into the ADP HRIS/payroll system.
- Maintain a positive organizational culture in line with the company’s values and continuous improvement mindset.
Highlighted Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of well-rounded hands-on HR experience in the manufacturing industry.
- A dynamic approach to leading and encouraging a positive culture with employees.
- 1+ years of payroll review/administration experience is a plus.
- Prior use of an HRIS.
- Current employment/labor law compliance knowledge.
- Motivated, self-directed individual with the desire to provide excellent customer service to their workforce.
- Must have exceptional time management, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication skills (written, oral, listening, presentation, influence, and interpersonal).
- Must be able to travel out of state for training (roughly 10% annually).
- Ability to work flexible hours on occasion to engage with all shift team members.
