How You Will Make an Impact:
The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in supporting various HR functions throughout the company, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, employee relations, and record keeping. This individual will serve as the HR representative at our Norfolk office while remaining an integral part of the HR team based in our main office in Richmond. Some common tasks include:
- Reviewing applications and facilitating pre-screen assessments
- Conducting phone screen interviews
- Scheduling and coordinating in-person interviews
- Guiding new hires through the onboarding process and ensuring paperwork is completed
- Conducting weekly new hire orientations
- Helping plan, advertise, and carry out employee engagement activities
- Assisting with handling employee complaints and grievances
- Maintaining accurate employee records
- Assisting in the collection and organization of HR data
- Assisting employees with self-service accounts, open enrollment, and answering benefits questions
- Helping administer the Employee Referral and Years of Service programs
- Creating monthly newsletters and flyers
What You Bring to the Table:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a similar field, or 1-2 years of HR Generalist level experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Experience using an HRIS and/or ATS preferred
- Experience conducting phone screens preferred
- Experience using Canva is a plus
