We are seeking a creative, driven, and highly motivated HR Generalist to join our team!
Summary:
The Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including, but not limited to, compliance, time & attendance administration, payroll, benefits, leave, workers compensation, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Process accurate and timely hourly and salary payroll for employees; maintain payroll operations by following policy and procedures, understanding proper taxation, garnishments and required reporting.
- Employee liaison for welfare and retirement benefits. Administer benefit eligibility and assist employees in claims resolution with TPA for assigned programs
- Administration of employee ADA accommodations, LOA for FMLA, STD, military, and approved unpaid personal leaves. Evaluate requests for eligibility and oversee approval process, benefits payable, TPA communications, return-to-work, and work restrictions.
- Provide on-going coaching to employees and supervisors on conflict resolution; investigate and report on policy infractions and complaints in accordance with assigned responsibility and company policy.
- Administration of Workers' Compensation claims, oversee accident and incident reporting & resolution. Compile necessary OSHA reports. Serve on the Safety Committee.
- Performing administrative tasks such as HRIS and management reports, filing and employee communications.
- Collaborate on employee events and gifts; organize/execute approved functions in conjunction with other staff and management.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
- Takes initiative on various projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our HR department.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of progressive human resource professional experience in the manufacturing environment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough working knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations; including EEO, OSHA Compliance, 401k, and Benefits compliance.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel).
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRIS
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- SHRM-CP or PHR Certification is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access and navigate each department at Ingersoll's facilities.
